For the past 18 years, we have proudly offered this exceptional FREE seminar for racers, first responders, track professionals, enthusiasts, and event attendees. Scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026, this year’s seminar will feature keynote speaker Alwin Springer—renowned Porsche racing engineer, co-founder of ANDIAL (with Arnold Wagner and Dieter Inzenhofer), and former president of Porsche Motorsport North America.

Drawing on more than five decades in international motorsport, Springer will share his stories on his unique career path and working with some of the sport’s most legendary teams and drivers.

Joining Springer are two additional distinguished speakers: Jim Ryan, VP at SCORE International Off-Road Racing, who will discuss safety considerations and advancements in off-road racing, and who will discuss the latest safety advancements in off-road racing, and Lee Kennedy, former President of the Southern California Timing Association (SCTA), who will share perspectives on land-speed racing and the unique safety challenges of high-speed competition on the salt.

ALWIN SPRINGER

Alwin Springer is a German-American motorsport engineer and executive widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in the history of Porsche racing in North America. Trained as an automotive electrician, technician, and master mechanic, he began his racing career in the late 1960s working on Porsche race cars after moving to Canada and later to Hermosa Beach.

In 1975, Springer co-founded ANDIAL in Costa Mesa, which became the premier independent Porsche racing engine builder and preparation shop in the United States. ANDIAL-built engines powered numerous championship-winning Porsche race cars, including the Porsche 935 and Porsche 962, helping dominate the IMSA sports car racing series through the 1980s and 1990s.

Springer later became General Manager and then President & CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America, guiding Porsche’s factory racing programs in the region. After decades of leadership in motorsport, he has continued to serve as a consultant to Porsche on historic racing and regulations, contributing his expertise to programs such as the modern Porsche 963.

Over a career spanning more than five decades, Springer has worked with many of the sport’s greatest drivers—including A. J. Foyt, Mario Andretti, Derek Bell, and Hurley Haywood—and is widely credited with shaping Porsche’s enduring success in North American endurance racing.

This event is FREE to attend. Registration is requested. Attendees must have access to the Long Beach Convention Center via either a GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET OR TRACK CREDENTIAL.
