17TH ANNUAL SAFETY SEMINAR AT PRI

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 12TH, 2025
PRI SHOW, INDIANAPOLIS, IN

10AM-12PM
Indiana Convention Center
Room 235 - 2nd Floor

Thank you to the PRI Show for 17 years of continued support in our efforts to share the importance and technology behind safety with the racing community. We look forward to the 2025 show!

This year’s Stand 21 Safety Foundation seminar at the PRI Show will focus on the dangers of heat stress for drivers, and what can be done to avoid it. Overheating the body leads to degradation of performance, physical harm, and it is potentially fatal.

We will hear from two experts studying the problem. Dr. Terry Trammell has a long history working with IndyCar and the FIA on a wide range of safety issues. David Ferguson PhD at Michigan State University has instrumented drivers in endurance races and has evaluated different solutions.

Matteo Repetto from FIA Safety will talk about the role of the driver suit in protection in fires, and how it can also help to maintain driver body temperature.

Also on the agenda is Jon Winker, a wounded US Army veteran whose organization, Resilience Racing is helping other injured veterans to use racing activity for rehabilitating their bodies and spirits. He will explain modifications to the vehicles making it possible for amputees to race.

The seminar will be held Friday, December 12, 10AM – Noon, in Room 235 of the Indiana Convention Center. This event is free of charge and does not require PRI Show registration to attend.
