"Racing Goes Safer" Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2019 PRI Show

Dr. Stephen Olvey was presented the award by the Foundation President, Yves Morizot, and its Director, Don Taylor. This award is given to a person who has embodied the philosophy of safety first, and dedicated their life to improving safety in the motorsport industry.
There is little doubt that Dr. Olvey, the man who throughout his life as a medical doctor and a true auto racing enthusiast, has vaulted the concern, understanding and solutions to improve the safety and often, the survival of gravely injured racing drivers at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and other venues since the late 1960s, is greatly deserving of this honor.

"Racing Goes Safer" Founder Yves Morizot, and RGS Foundation President Don Taylor present Dr. Stephen Olvey with the "Racing Goes Safer" Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2019 PRI Show in Indianapolis, ID.
Dr, Olvey wrote the book “Rapid Response” which describes the story of his efforts to bring immediate medical help to injured drivers seconds after an accident. An excellent documentary with extraordinary footage and interviews was first released in September 2019 and is now available on DVD.
A presentation on the big screen of the movie followed the ceremony later that evening. The Racing Goes Safer Foundation is very grateful to have, and have had Dr. Olvey’s participation in its educational seminars nationwide.
